MC² Expands Services to Collegiate Institutions
MC² Expands Services to Help Collegiate Institutions Connect with Prospective Student Athletes
Company to use branding expertise to develop high-quality athletic facilities

Chestnut Ridge, NY (May 28, 2008) —MC², a global leader in exhibit, environment and event design and production, announced today the expansion of its services to include the development of collegiate athletic facilities.

In an era of intense competition between colleges and universities for high-caliber athletes, premium sports facilities have become an essential tool for successful recruitment. Leveraging its expertise in developing, fabricating and building corporate environments, MC² will be able to help universities gain a competitive edge by creating highly memorable and inspiring experiences for prospective students.

According to a recent report on facilities impact of recruitment and retention by the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA), 70 percent of students across the country indicated that overall quality of campus facilities were “essential” or “very important” in their decision about which college or university to attend. An investment in an athletic training facility that accurately communicates a university’s brand helps to engage prospects and develop an emotional connection with the school’s history, traditions and programs.

“High quality sports facilities are often the driver behind a school’s identity and can raise the stature of a particular school,” said Brian Tarrant, division vice president, MC². “When universities are recruiting top athletes, it is important to tell a story. Using consistent brand messaging throughout the athletic facilities—from the hallways to the locker rooms and the team lounge to the weight room—surrounds the prospect with the story and helps create a memorable experience.”

MC² will showcase its capabilities in permanent environment and facility design, project management and installation during the 2008 NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) Convention in Dallas, Texas from June 9 to 12 .

The company has developed permanent marketing environments and displays including corporate presentation facilities, executive briefing centers and retail environments for leading Fortune 500 companies and industry leading brands including Nike, RocaWear, FAO Schwarz, Cisco Systems and MGM Mirage.

MC²’s expansion of services into collegiate athletic facilities will be led by Brian Tarrant, a former scholastic athlete who attended Syracuse University on a full football scholarship. Tarrant’s familiarity with the recruiting process and hosting prospective students as an undergraduate athlete combined with his knowledge of the experiential marketing industry lends him the experience and tools to help build MC²’s presence in this market segment.
